I LOVE pizza. I want to serve pizza at my wedding, along with some tacos. And cheesecake. But there is nothing better than a cheesy pizza. Except for when you have to share. And you can't agree on your toppings. So you get half and half and their gross olives get mixed in with your pepperonis. Yuck.
Luckily, my boyfriend and I have similar tastes in pizza toppings. But sometimes I just don't want to share, or I want something a little bit different. So we make individual pizzas. Now we don't use English muffins or small amounts of pizza dough. Instead, we buy naan bread at the store and turn them into our own pizzas.
These are a truly great food invention. They are perfectly sized for individual pizzas. Choose your favorite sauce: marinara, alfredo, white, hot sauce, pesto. Anything. Even a cheese sauce. Then throw your favorite toppings on there. Pepperonis, sausage, peppers, chicken, spinach, tomatoes. Cover those toppings with cheese, as much or as little as you want.
You'll want your oven preheated to 400 degrees. Once you've completed your pizza masterpiece, place it on a baking sheet and pop it in the oven for 10-15 minutes. You'll want the cheese to be melted and the naan bread to just start to brown.
Cut it however you like and enjoy! No sharing!
Last night we made some delicious buffalo chicken pizzas on whole grain naan!
