This man gets in this child’s face at the lumber store.
Waving his finger at the kid and saying:
this is why you can’t have nice things.
The child begins to cry.
Apparently he has lost his toy
and the situation is so grave that now he will never be
able to have or experience anything nice
for the remainder of his days.
Like a nice father perhaps.
Instead of this yuppie jackass in front of him.
I feel for the kid.
I once had a father too.
Similar in both mind and expression.
When the embarrassed man sees people looking,
he lifts the crying child up by the arm
and carries him out of the store.
Two clucky women looking at lighting fixtures
will have something to talk about
for the next three hours.
He has made their day.
